Pre-order this shrub tree that will be ready for pick-up on May 9th during the Seedling Saturday event at the Just Food Community Farm (2391 Pepin Court). You can also make arrangements to pick-up after May 9th at the same location.
We expect these young, vigorous shrubs to be around 6-12″ tall with a strong root system and ready for transplanting in your edible forest garden.

- Soil type: Can handle most soil types, add compost/organic material to boost plant health.
- Pollination Requirements: self-fertile
- Light Requirements: Full sun to Partial shade
- Growth Habits: 4-6 ft tall, 3-5 ft wide (easily pruned to preferred size)
- Fruit info: Strong cassis flavour, tart but become much sweeter if left longer on the plant. Excellent for juices and jams.
- Notes: Produces fruit early and in good amount. Prune 5-6 year old growth to keep plants productive and invigorated.
