    Pre-order this fruit bush that will be ready for pick-up on May 10th during the Seedling Saturday event at the Just Food Community Farm (2391 Pepin Court). You can also make arrangements to pick-up after May 10th at the same location.

    These vigorous canes are in a large (2 gallon) pot, and ready for transplanting in your edible forest garden. They may begin producing fruit as early as within this year of planting.

    • Soil type: Prefers loamy soil, add compost/organic material to boost plant health.
    • Pollination Requirements: self-fertile
    • Light Requirements: Full sun to Partial shade
    • Growth Habits: 6-10 ft tall with a suckering habit
    • Fruit info: Delicious flavour, sweeter than red raspberry. Excellent for fresh eating.
    • Notes: Produces fruit early and in good amount. A care-free, native plant that remains productive even with very little attention.

We also host the Ottawa Food Forest Exchange Facebook group, a forum for its 1300+ members to swap and trade food forest materials with each other to expand without needing to shell out $$. The proceeds of sales of these trees goes to support non-profit activities at the Just Food Community Farm.
