2025 Seedling Saturday is upon us — May 10 from 10 AM–1 PM at Just Food Community Farm.

Chi Garden has over 20 varieties of unique, organically grown seedlings, including:
Asian Heritage Corn, Bitter Melon, Perilla, Molokhia, Purple Mustard, Red Flowering Choy Sum
Medicinal herbs, edible perennials, heirloom squash and beans, sweet potato slips, tree saplings
All are open-pollinated, adapted to Ottawa, and rooted in flavour, health, and community.
This year, we’re also offering curated combos like:
Small-Space Garden Starter
Three Sisters East Asia (heirloom Asian corn, squash & beans)
Food as Medicine Collection
These seedlings come from varieties we’ve tested, grown, and selected over many seasons right here at Chi Garden. Whether you’re just getting started or looking for resilient plants with history and soul, we hope you’ll find something for your garden.
You can also pre-order now at our new online store:
justfoodfarmstand.com (New items are being added daily!)
Huge thanks to Shelley from Nanabush Food Forests and Forêt Capital Forest for hosting this site and curate the store — and don’t miss her post on designing your own edible landscape, where you can find great trees to add to your home or community space:
Build Your Edible Landscape
And of course, we’ll be bringing your favourite Chi Garden goodies to the market:

Kimchi & krauts |
Herbal teas
Also yes, there will be honey at Capital Bees table!
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
